After their 1-0 opening loss to Bilbao, scientists have concluded that Barcelona without Messi is, quite simply, “shit”.
Catalan based scientists have today released a frank, one-word assessment of the Blaugrana without their 5-time Balon D’or winner.
“Shit” asserted Dr. Sergio Sanchez, who is a Professor of Sport Science at the world-renowned OTT University in Barcelona.
Dr. Sanchez and his team of scientists have been working tirelessly over the last 6 months studying the implications of Messi’s absence on Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively.
Critics of Dr. Sanchez’s findings have argued that the season has only just begun and it is therefore too soon to be making judgements about club performances.
But the Catalan professor hit back with statistics in a written statement released to the press on Sunday, pointing out that “without Messi, Barcelona have not won in 6 competitive matches, including 4 losses”.
Indeed, Barcelona are winless in 6 games without the Argentine, including losses against Levante, Sevilla, Celta Vigo and now Bilbao. Furthermore, Barca have only scored 2 goals within those 6 games.
Barcelona will hope to get back to winning ways in their next encounter against Real Betis on August 25.
